The exhibition Manifest Destiny marks the starting point of a work-in-progress, deriving from a collaboration between Kunstenfestival 0090 and Extra City Center for Contemporary Art in Antwerp. For this project, the initiator and curator Meryem Bayram invited the following artists to Antwerp to take part in a first joint residency: Cevdet Erek (TR), Mladen Stilinović (HR), Xurban Collective (TR), Emre Hüner (TR) and Reinaart Vanhoe (BE). During the course of 2009 there will be further working visits. This exhibition serves as the cornerstone for a project that will emerge in its full capacity in 2010.
